Who is behind it

Roberto Teixeira Silva · Journalist, designer and sports data analyst

I am Roberto, Brazilian and Portuguese, and I live in Vila Nova de Gaia, in Portugal. Between 2015 and 2025 I worked at Globo, in Rio de Janeiro, as a journalist, designer and sports data analyst. I studied Communication and Journalism and later did an MBA in Communication and Marketing for Digital Media, and I am a co-founder of Estúdio Dois Gatos, a small studio focused on art direction and visual identity. SoSimple.tools exists to help people with fast tools that are free to use and as instant as possible. As a journalist, my main purpose has always been to help others, whether with a news story or with a free tool that can save someone's day.

Three principles

Your work stays in your browser The text, numbers, files and passwords you use in a tool are processed on your own device and are not sent to our servers. Some technical data, such as your IP address, is processed by our hosting provider and, if you allow advertising, by ad and affiliate partners, and a few tools download their code or model files from third-party hosts; the Privacy Policy lists each one. None of them receives what you type or the files you process.

Free, with no account There is no sign-up, no trial period and no paid plan. The site is paid for by advertising, by affiliate links that are always labeled, and by voluntary support through Ko-fi.

No usage limits on our side We do not sell credits or tokens and we do not cap how often you use a tool, so you can use any of them as many times as you like. Some limits come from your own device: very large files in the PDF and image tools, for example, depend on the memory of your computer or phone, because the work happens there.

Check it yourself Open your browser’s developer tools (usually F12), go to the Network tab and run a calculation: you will not see what you typed being sent anywhere.

What this site is

SoSimple.tools is an independent project that offers free calculators, converters and small utilities in English, German, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Each page does one job, such as a loan schedule, a unit conversion or a date calculation, without sign-up and without clutter.

Your data stays with you

The calculations run in your own browser. What you type into a tool is not sent to our servers or stored by us. The only things saved on your device are small preferences, such as light or dark mode and your cookie choice.

How we keep tools accurate

Every tool has a methodology section that names the formula, standard or official source behind it, and tools that depend on rules that change (taxes, statutory limits, border or document rules) show the date they were last checked. Results are estimates for planning, and tools in sensitive areas carry a clear notice that they do not replace professional or official advice.

How the site is funded

The site is free to use. To cover hosting and development it may show advertising and affiliate links to products on Amazon, which are always labeled, and it accepts voluntary support through Ko-fi. Commissions never change a calculation result, and recommended products are chosen because they relate to what the tool is about.

How the tools are made

I decide which tools exist, what each one should do and which sources it relies on. AI assistants help me build the technical structure and draft the texts, much like other people use Framer or a code editor to build a site. Before a page goes live, its formulas are tested against worked examples and the standards and figures it cites are checked against published sources; whatever cannot be confirmed is softened or removed. I take responsibility for what is published and fix confirmed errors.

Editorial standards

Every tool follows the same checklist before it is published. The formula or rule is written down with its source; the result is reproduced by hand or in code with at least one worked example; edge cases such as zero, negative or very large inputs show a dash instead of a misleading number; and anything that could not be confirmed from an official or primary source is removed or phrased as an estimate. Tools never promise exact, guaranteed or professional-grade results. When a rule changes, the affected tool is updated and, where it shows a date, that date is changed. If you find an error, write to the address below with the tool name and what looks wrong: confirmed errors are corrected in the text or the calculation, and no ad or affiliate relationship influences that decision.
