How to use this tool
- Click the box and select one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP…). You can add more later.
- Use ↑ and ↓ to set the order of the pages and ✕ to remove a file.
- Choose the page size, orientation, margin and JPG quality.
- Press “Create PDF”: the file is built on your device and downloaded.
Worked example
Say you photographed a 3-page lease with your phone and need to email one file. Select the three photos, put them in order with the arrows, keep A4, automatic orientation and the small margin, and press “Create PDF”: you get a 3-page A4 file called images-sosimple.pdf. The result is a picture of each page, not searchable text, because this tool does not do OCR.
Methodology
Each image is drawn on a canvas in your browser, which also applies the rotation stored in a photo's metadata, and is then placed on a page of the PDF with the open-source pdf-lib library (version 1.17.1, served from this site). No image is sent to a server.
Photo-to-PDF surprises, and what happens in each
Most surprises come from how phones store pictures. Here is what this tool does in each case.
- A photo looks sideways in other tools. Phones often save the picture upright only through a rotation flag in the file. The flag is applied here, so the thumbnail you see is the page you get.
- The PDF is too big to email. Photos from a recent phone are several megabytes each. Choose “Medium” or “Low” JPG quality to shrink the pages; PNG files and screenshots are not affected by this setting.
- A PNG has a transparent background. Transparency is kept, and the paper shows through as white.
- You mix portrait and landscape photos. With “Automatic” each page follows its own picture, so a landscape photo gets a landscape A4 page.
- You expect to search or copy text. A PDF made from photos only contains pictures. For selectable text you need OCR software, which is not part of this tool.
Frequently asked questions
Is this JPG to PDF converter really free and unlimited? ▼
Yes. There is no account, no daily limit, no watermark and no per-file cap set by us. The only practical limit is your device's memory: hundreds of large photos at once can make a phone run out of it, so split very big jobs into groups.
Are my images uploaded to a server? ▼
No. The images are read and converted inside your browser tab and the PDF is created on your device. The page only downloads its own scripts, so you can even go offline after it has loaded and it keeps working.
Which image formats can I use? ▼
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP work in every modern browser. AVIF and HEIC depend on your browser and system: Safari opens HEIC, many other browsers do not. An animated GIF becomes a single page with its first frame.
Why is the PDF larger than my photos? ▼
PNG, WebP and other non-JPG images are stored as PNG, which can be larger than the original. If size matters, convert photos to JPG first or choose a lower JPG quality; the setting only changes JPG images.
